Sean Ness

Affiliate

Sean Ness is a seasoned professional with 20+ years of invaluable experience in the non-profit research sector. Currently serving as Principal Program Manager at PG&E, he leads strategic initiatives focused on advancing Integrated Grid Planning (IGP). His expertise includes driving enterprise roadmaps, aligning cross-functional teams, and advocating for grid modernization and risk-based investment strategies at state and federal levels.

Prior to his current role, Sean played a pivotal role at the Institute for the Future (IFTF), a foresight research institute located in Palo Alto, California. His extensive background in strategic planning, project management, and partnership development enabled him to spearhead innovative programs and drive impactful collaborations with diverse industries and stakeholders.

Before his tenure at IFTF, Sean contributed significantly to the dynamic technology landscape by working with various technology startups in both the vibrant markets of Boston and San Francisco. In 2006, he co-founded the STIRR Network, a pioneering group that became a driving force behind early-stage entrepreneurial activity in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. His entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking have been instrumental in shaping the business landscape of the region.
