Jean Hagan

Executive Producer

As the Executive Producer Jean Hagan is IFTF’s chief of brand and head of creative and communications. She oversees the translation of research ideas into messaging for PR and for all digital visual media and media experiences (maps, books, artifacts of the future, digital stories, and immersive videos). With an educational background in creative writing, journalism, and graphic design and a professional background in advertising, marketing, PR, and branding, Jean bridges the communities that make IFTF a highly creative organization, including its clients and sponsors, research staff, internal design studio, creative affiliates, and the public media. Skilled in mobilizing networks to engage with IFTF in everything from participatory games to online platform engagements, Jean also manages the organization’s ongoing media, press relationships, and serves on the IFTF Board of Trustees.

Jean studied journalism and design in college. She has a BA in Design from the San José State University School of Art & Design. She began her professional career in account management, design, and advertising at boutique ad firms in San Francisco; later, she directed brand, demand creation, design, marketing, and communications groups for tech startups such as Internet Profiles Corporation (one of the first internet ad tracking firms) and at Fabrik Communications, and at larger enterprise companies such as Softbank Inc. and Oracle Corporation.
