Vinnova, as Sweden’s governmental innovation agency, has been using its state resources to spur innovation in the country for more than two decades. Valuing strategic foresight as a must-have, the Swedish government tasks Vinnova with mobilizing, building networks, and sharing knowledge with private and public organizations who are exploring new frontiers, such as new ways of working or new technologies. While Sweden looked to its neighbor Finland and Singapore as leaders in the field of speculative futures, it soon earned its own reputation as a credible player in designing innovative prototypes of the future.
