Foresight practitioners walk down different methodological paths to arrive at forecasts. A futures thinker who knows the in’s and out’s of foresight methods is Karla Paniagua, PhD. On Tuesday, August 5 at 9am Pacific Time, Dr. Paniagua, Head of Futures Studies and Co-Director of the UNESCO Chair in Design Methods for Democratic Access to the Imagination of the Future at CENTRO University (Mexico City), shares with us the complex foresight methodologies of two different futures projects. First, she’ll share the tools and processes she and her team employed for a future of banking speculative design project. Then, she’ll share her team’s latest work developing public policy for sustainable tourism in Mexico. Two distinct projects with their own unique approaches. Karla will share her frameworks, toolkits, learning references, and how ethnographic interviews shaped her forecasting. We’ll also hear her personal story of how she mistakenly got into futures thinking and how her practice is evolving.
Join IFTF in conversation with this pioneering futures thinker. We look forward to hearing directly from Karla as she shares her immense experience and insights with us.
