Andrea Bloom
Andrea Bloom brings to the Health Horizons Program extensive marketing and healthcare experience including expertise in diabetes. Andrea is the founding principal of Diabetes Insights. As a healthcare industry consultant she works on a wide range of projects including providing expertise in defining reimbursement pathways to generate maximum valuation for medical technologies; and developing marketing strategies for start-ups and large cap companies interested in continuing their revenue growth by acquiring new technologies and companies.
Her foundation in diabetes and marketing comes from having spent nearly a decade at Johnson & Johnson’s LifeScan Inc., a leading blood glucose manufacturer. Andrea’s background includes marketing in both the U.S. and international arenas targeting consumers, physicians, hospitals, and retailers. She spent 5 years in the international division introducing blood glucose technology to remote parts of the developing world and enabling self-management of diabetes for the first time in many countries. Andrea received her BA in Economics, from University of California, Berkeley, and her MBA from Harvard Business School.
