Richard Adler was born in New York City, raised in Colorado, attended college in New England, taught in the Midwest, and spent most of his working life in Silicon Valley. These many changes of scene have given him a broad perspective on American culture and a strong curiosity about what is coming next. More recently, he has broadened his viewpoint further by working on international projects in Europe and Asia.

Andrea Bloom brings to the Health Horizons Program extensive marketing and healthcare experience including expertise in diabetes. As a healthcare industry consultant she works on a wide range of projects including providing expertise in defining reimbursement pathways to generate maximum valuation for medical technologies; and developing marketing strategies for start-ups and large cap companies interested in continuing their revenue growth by acquiring new technologies and companies.

Jamais Cascio writes about the intersection of emerging technologies, environmental dilemmas, and cultural transformation, specializing in the creation of plausible scenarios of the future. His work focuses on the importance of long-term, systemic thinking, with a particular emphasis on building a more open and resilient society.

Dr. J.A.English Lueck is a Professor of Anthropology at San Jose State University and an active Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Future. Dr. English Lueck has a doctorate from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she studied social change and community life among alternative health practitioners, resulting in Health in the New Age: a Study in California Holistic Practices (1990). Chinese Intellectuals on the World Frontier (1997) emerged from a study of scientists and technologists in the People's Republic of China and Hong Kong.

David Evan Harris is a Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Future and Executive Director of the Global Lives Project, a non-profit media organization with more than 250 volunteer collaborators in 10 countries. His work with IFTF focuses on social change, political economy, the global south and new media.

Jane McGonigal takes play seriously. She studies the power of games to impact the real-world -- and she creates games that do just that. A pioneer in the field of "alternate reality gaming", her previous projects include The Lost Ring, World Without Oil, Cruel 2 B Kind, and I Love Bees. She is an expert on applying game design and game theory to real work and real business, and has consulted and developed internal game workshops for leading technology companies in Asia, Europe, and the U.S., as well as more than a dozen Fortune Global 500 Companies.
