Gaming for a New Energy Future

IFTF and IEEE Spectrum co-sponsored Smart Grid 2025, a game run on our Foresight Engine engaged forecasting platform. The game was open for 24 hours, starting March 17, 2011 and ending on March 18, 2011.

Smart Grid 2025 was an opportunity to make a new energy future. It posed such questions as: What do we need to do today to create the best possible future for the smart grid? What resources are needed? what integration models? what technologies? what policies? what information? We all know the challenges ahead of us. And this game encouraged us to start working on solving the problem ... together.

IEEE posted a podcast all about the game, on the IEEE Spectrum blog. Read the interview of project lead Jake Dunagan by IEEE's Steven Cherry, explaining the scenario and gameplay, or listen to the podcast below.
