After nearly 20 years behind closed doors in research labs, Augmented Reality is taking shape as the next major wave of Internet innovation, overlaying and infusing the physical world with digital media, information, and experiences. At IFTF, we already know that mobile technologies are changing the way we interact with our health today—and we believe that Augmented Reality will furher transform this interaction by enabling us to see and envision, in real time, the full impact of our health and lifestyle choices.
Join Fellow and Technologist, Mike Liebhold—a longtime researcher in Augmented Reality (AR), who recently helped organize the first AR development camps and online discussion forums of open AR software—and Rachel Maguire, IFTF's lead researcher in mobile health technologies for this 1-day workshop on May 26 at IFTF's Palo Alto offices (directly following the Mobile Health 2010 conference at Stanford University).
Mike and Rachel will host a select group of experts from various fields who are working on Augmented Reality technologies, IFTF researchers and invited guests to delve into questions such as: what happens when our mobile technologies change? What can we do to improve health outcomes when critical health data can be overlaid onto our field of vision, and how does that change the way we make decisions about our health and well-being? What could these new capabilities mean for prevention, detection, and disease management?
