The 2008 Ten-Year Forecast Annual Retreat, "The Future is a New View of Life," took place in San Francisco, CA on April 9 & 10. Materials from this meeting are available for download to TYF members, including:
2008 TYF Map of the Decade (SR-1142)
The view this year is distinctly biological. Even in arenas more social than biological, new biological identities—and new understandings of biological connectedness—draw people into unexpected affiliations. We turn to face the decade with a naturalist’s eye: we’re looking for the intricate connections that form the webs of our evolving life as if our futures depend on it. Ah, but they do. They do.
2008 TYF Perspectives & Signals (SR-1140)
The Perspectives bring focus to the future. They are a set of lenses for viewing a changing world. Each Perspective is a deeper look into one facet of the 2008 Map of the Decade. The front tells the story. The back gives you a visual map of the signals and drivers that lead to this perspective.
The Signals are the building blocks of each Perspective. They show what’s happening today. They point to innovations and disruptions. The front defines the signal and suggests where it’s pointing. The back illustrates the point.
The Overview
The overview is a flat illustration of the folder that holds this year’s Ten-Year Forecast. The overview tells the larger story and explains how each component ties together.
