So here's the reconstructed action-step list that Anthony and I just made:
.5) Anthony shooting off an email of this stuff to Marina, trying to get buy-in
- A short, basic baseline survey to be sent to all IFTF staff & some affiliates --Try to make it mandatory but breif. Anthony's working on the content. Anthony could you post it here as you put it together
- Approach Sean and Dawn about how to price, include and present offsets of some kind in as many projects that must include travel as possible. Miriam will be doing this over the next week or so.
- Identify a pilot project to experiment with no-travel/carbon neutral strategies to identify practices that could be generalized to other projects. Miriam will be talking to Sean and Dawn about possible candidate projects/clients who might be interested
- Hold a breif (online) workshop trying to envision what a sustainable research and consulting organization might look like in the future. Anthony will take the lead in organizing this.
We backed off the prior idea of putting together detailed accountings of the miles flown of our top travelers (Bob, Marina, etc)... as probably a bad idea that would get this effort shut down fast.
Miriam's still interested in talking to Lyn about how to do some detailed facilities accounting.
